Mount Riding

The character can ride most ground mounts and perform special maneuvers. A roll is only necessary under special or difficult circumstances.

A good rider will develop a close bond with her mount, often seeing it as a friend and companion. If this relationship is especially strong, an extra bonus can be gained.

Here are some of the maneuvers that can be attempted:

• Jump in the saddle while in movement
• Direct the mount to jump over obstacles
• Direct the mount to double its speed for long periods of time (regularly, the mount may need to walk for 15 minutes without a rider to recuperate)
• Guide the mount with the knees, thus allowing the use of both hands (to use a bow or a two-handed weapon, for example)
• Crouch down the side of the flank, and using the mount as a shield
• Jump off the mount and attack a target
