Element Stability

Elemental stability describes how predictable and controllable an element is, including when manipulated through magic or alchemy. A stable element is easier to shape and direct, while an unstable element is volatile and difficult to handle.

For this reason, apprentices often begin their studies with stable elements such as Water and Earth. Stability also influences the availability of enchanted items: objects tied to unstable elements are more complex to create, making them rarer and more expensive.
