Phoenix

The Phoenix is the universal symbol of good, although its nature is hard to determine. It was mostly unknown until the Wars of the Dead, where it appeared and protected Tlefyr Darioh and Askia Zaporavo during the fall of Kingstown.

Ancient manuscripts tell that it played another important role during the Ravages, the final battle between the dragons and the hydras which caused the end of the third era.

The Phoenix is formed from an amalgam of the strongest and most powerful forces of light and good. It most often appears under the guise of flashes of light, which sometimes takes the shape of a wing, a talon or a beak.

It is believed by some that the Phoenix is one of the source of energy for the five Mystics of Mylrana: Odin, Tyr, Mitra, Diosus and Nephythys. Others believe that the Phoenix is a manifestation of the five Mystics.

The Phoenix has been known to appear to some, when in serious need, although its appearance is brief and fleeting. Those seeking its blessing travel to the village of Calmu, where they are welcomed by monks. The bravest travel north from there, toward the Mount of Ordeals. Only those blessed by the Phoenix can attempt to ascend the mount and reach the sanctuary located on its summit. There, it is said, the Phoenix sometimes appear, shining and burning. The light from its flames can be seen from Calmu and beyond.
