Adjustments to CR
The following situations impose an adjustment to the Casting Roll (CR). A positive adjustment makes the roll more difficult, representing a penalty to the caster.
In most situations, apply only the most significant relevant modifier. Multiple adjustments should only be combined when they arise from clearly distinct sources.
Spell Level
- -10 CR: Spell Level 1
- +0 CR: Spell Level 2
- +10 CR: Spell Level 3
- +20 CR: Spell Level 4
Other Adjustments
- +10 CR: Arcanes — caster cannot speak
- +10 CR: Arcanes — caster cannot perform gestures
- +10 CR: Spirit — caster does not have a mystic symbol
