Knowledge: Artifacts

Most of the magical objects over the years originated from the Synod. The creation and study of magical items have always been their specialties. Although sometimes a spell is required to identify an item, the one with the ability Artifacts can often determine the nature of the object just by a glance or a touch, based on his experience with similar objects or because he has seen a similar object before. Some merchants travel to Dar Al'Kalif to learn this ability to help them with their craft. This is important because dealing with magical items can be both profitable and dangerous.

This ability lets a character identify an item without the use of a spell or long research. The following adjustments come into play, and can be cumulative (at the DM's discretion):
