01. The Star Symbol

Background Information

Lyeon has now been missing for over 2 months. His son Ryelon and his apprentice Lewyn are both starting to worry.

Apogee 20, Year 820 (Brecon, Tilia)

• On the morning, when Lewyn arrives at the Brecon's library, Alia is waiting for him with a mysterious note left at the library the night before. The letter is from Galdar, inviting Lewyn and Ryelon to come to his home. The letter states that he knows something about the whereabouts of Lyeon.
• Lewyn meets with Ryelon at his house, which is also Lyeon's home. Together, they head out for the Hanging Flagon, a bar attached to Galdar's house. The sky is cloudy, but the day is sunny nonetheless.
• At the Hanging Flagon, located on the eastern cliff side of Brecon, Tralgor, the barkeeper, lead Lewyn and Ryelon in the back, following passageways all the way to Galdar's home. They learn from him that Galdar has been absent for the past 2 weeks. Tralgor is now also very worried.
• Something doesn't feel right in the air. In the room adjacent to Galdar's house, the party is attacked by four shadow shapes. They are victorious, although a miscasted spell by Lewyn leaves a mark on Tralgor...
• The party makes in into Tralgor's house, which they investigate. They find it empty, yet ransacked. Tralgor is devastated, worried for his friend. In the bedroom, they find a strange star shaped symbol on the floor boards. Lewyn draws a copy on a papyrus.
• Leaving Tralgor behind, and promising to keep him informed, Lewyn and Ryelon make their way to the library, where they ask for help identifying the symbol. Alia helps, but knows little. A commotion is taking place in one of the back rooms, where the head librarian Tarelle, is dealing with a difficult patron. They learn that a knight named Farra is looking for her missing sister. Like them, she is asking the head librarian about a strange star shaped symbol. Tarelle agrees to change her priorities and look for what she can find on the symbol. She'll do so overnight and ask them all to come back the next day.
• While Ryelon heads home to look into his father's belongings for the symbol, Lewyn brings Farra to Galdar's home so she can have a look. He debriefs her on what they know so far.
