02. The White Cloak

Background Information

Lewyn and Ryelon, accompanied by Farra, continue to investigate the missing Galdar and the strange symbol.

Apogee 20, Year 820 (Brecon, Tilia)

• At his home, Ryelon enters his father's laboratory to look for any clue as to his whereabouts. He finds a trap on the drawers of a desk, and a strange chest in a corner. Lewyn joins him later that evening.
• They open the chest to realize it was addressed to Ryelon, with a note about him taking over his father's mission: "Now your mission lies ahead of you, As it did mine so long ago...". A white cloak embroidered with gold and platinum thread was also included in the chest. It bore the same star symbol as found on Galdar's floor.
• As they continue searching the laboratory, Lewyn comes to the conclusion that Ryelon was doing research in some forbidden fields, most particularly about darkness and related magic.
• Lewyn leaves late, and returns home for the night.

Apogee 21, Year 820 (Brecon, Tilia)

• Lewyn meet up with Ryelon at his house, and together, they make their way to the library. Ryelon packs the cloak, but keeps it hidden.
• At the library, Tarelle shares with them her discoveries. She link the star symbol to a group known as the Defenders. They seem to be associated with the City of Light and the Phoenix, playing the role of guardians for the city. They also learn that Farra's sister was exchanging letters with Galdar. Ryelon shares their discoveries with Farra and Tarelle, showing the cloak as well. It is made of dragon webbing, and extremely powerful.
• They make their way to Galdar's house, where a secret door opens for Ryelon once he puts the cloak on. Inside, they find letters from Farra's sister to Galdar, showing a meeting place west of Brecon, an abandoned temple.
• They return to the library, but Tarelle isn't there. Alia goes over different maps, but none has any information about the abandoned temple. When Tarelle returns later, she finds the temple, and its exact location. She also explains that it was once dedicated to Nephythys, but it was destroyed during the Inferno, and possibly taken over by her twin brother, Vylthymys, at some point. She warns them to be very vigilant and careful.

Apogee 22, Year 820 (Brecon, Tilia)

• Lewyn, Ryelon, Farra and Maron (henchman to take care of the horses once they reach the forest) rent horses and pack for a trip of a few days to the abandoned temple.

The Meeting Location ( COMPLETED): Figure out where the secret meeting of the Defenders was scheduled to take place.
