03. The Abandoned Temple

Background Information

Lewyn and Ryelon, accompanied by Farra and henchman Maron, leaves Brecon for the abandoned temple of Nephythys.

Apogee 22, Year 820 (Ulina Forest)

• Lewyn, Ryelon and Farra enters into the forest, leaving the horses with Maron, under an arch with the feather symbol of Nephythys, close to the main road. It starts raining.
• They encounter three cursed trees. The trees attack on sight and the group comes out victorious. Lewyn's first darts are particularly effective agains the trees.
• They find steps, covered in dirt and grass, leading to what looks like the main building of the temple. Shadows surround the place and take notice of them. They are too numerous to fight and the group has to retreat, until they find a small shrine of Nephythys, where they are safe from the shadows, who won't approach it. (Ryelon gains +1 END during this flight)
• As evening approaches, they scan their surrounding, staying close to the shrine. They find a second building, which they decide to explore in the morning. At night, impenetrable darkness surrounds them. They each take a turn to keep watch. During his turn, Lewyn detects the presence of the black moon. He suspects it will be a full black moon in the following days, which means the forces of evil could benefit from it.

Apogee 23, Year 820 (Abandoned Temple of Nephythys)

• The next morning, they make their way to the second building. They find obvious signs that the place was used recently by a group of people. Of note, they find a meeting room, and several bedrooms with cots and chests. One of those rooms belonged to Lyeon, Ryelon's father. Another belong to Farra's sister, while another seemed to have been used by Galdar. Three more rooms seemed to have been used.
• They search Lyeon's first, and find a case of pendants of elemental protection, as well as some notebooks and scrolls. They then proceed to Galdar's room, where they find a ring of protection, and a strange looking locked chest. When Ryelon pick the lock, a trap is activated and both Lewyn and Ryelon finds themselves completely blind. Farra is also hit, and although her vision is quite blurry, she can see enough to move around and guide the others.
• The group decides to spend the night in this new building, the meeting room, where a feather appears on the wall and Nephythys's presence can still be felt.

The Missing Father: Find Lyeon.

The Strange Symbol: The star shaped symbol represented a group known as the Defenders. They may be linked to the Phoenix or the City of Light...

The Missing Sister: Find Farra's sister. She exchanged letters with Galdar and was going to meet him at an abandoned temple in the Ulina Forest.

Find Galdar: Find Galdar, a wizard from Brecon.
